Best Restaurants for Anniversaries in River North (Chicago)

We weren’t hungry enough to eat a big meal but still received the same impeccable service. We had AMAZING oysters to start, gumbo and bisque that sang and lovely salads. Their signature raspberry pie for dessert was a winner. Delightful experience.

The only bad part was that MJ himself was not there tonight. But everything here was amazing. The Jump man martini was great, and the fillet mignon was cooked to perfection (medium rare). Try the mashed potato’s, you get to try 3 different kinds. And the staff was friendly and attentive. Over all, great experience.

Another wonderful meal at Gene and Georgetti! This restaurant is consistently fantastic every time we’ve dined there over the last 20 years. The wait staff and hosts are always warm and helpful and professional. I have always loved the old school ambience and the menu. With all the steak house options in Chicago, this has always been my go-to. The food is delicious and the wine selection and cocktails are similarly wonderful.

From the friendly and welcoming reception staff to the awesome waitress my experience was wonderful! It was my first visit and my server gets an A+ for her recommendations! I dined alone and the atmosphere and ambiance was welcoming and un rushed. And my meal was scrumptious! I’ll definitely return!

Hawksmoor is a wonderful addition to Chicago's dining scene! We first discovered Hawksmoor several years ago in London and quickly made it a tradition to have Christmas Eve dinner at their Seven Dials location before returning to the States from our annual holiday trip. This year, our travels brought us to London earlier than usual, so we were unable to continue our tradition there. However, since Hawksmoor Chicago opened, we’ve had the pleasure of dining here several times, and we were thrilled to continue our Hawksmoor tradition—not in London, but in Chicago—tonight! Everything about Hawksmoor Chicago is wonderful—the food, ambiance, and service are all exceptional. The portion sizes are just right, and the quality of the steak and all ingredients shines through in every dish. In a city brimming with steakhouses, Hawksmoor stands out for being unpretentious, fun, and consistently delivering a perfect night out. We’re so excited to have this piece of London here in Chicago, and we’ll definitely be back soon!
