Now, a few years later we have lovely local following that come in droves, especially at the weekend.Although open all year round, from springtime onwards you can sit outside on the terrace with a negroni, glass of prosecco or a craft beer and transport yourself to Italy, surrounded by festoon lights and olive trees. Traveling solo I wanted a tasty Christmas dinner in a casual cozy restaurant. Bennie’s delivered on all fronts. The small restaurant was busy but not overly packed. I truly appreciate the staff who came into work on Christmas Day evening and provide a delicious meal and friendly service to their diners. I chose the 3 course dinner and asked to substitute sparking water for the champagne which they did with no fuss. The Chicken Pate was served with a wonderful fresh bread. It was savory and the raspberries provided just the right touch of tart and sweet. The Duck Breast was flavorful and the cranberry sauce again provided a nice touch to cut through the richness of the meat. Rounding out the meal I chose the Chocolate Mousse which was delicious. I’ll definitely return next time I’m staying in the area.

Fantastic dining experience on Christmas Day. Food was great, only complaint was the Christmas turnkey with roast vegetables could have been more roasted. The vegetables did have much crunch including the roast potatoes, but it still tasted great!Will definitely see us next year.

We were a party of 9 and were well looked through the evening. Our host Maria was exceptional and made sure we had the right gap between courses. The food was very good and very reasonable in price. Would certainly go there again.
