Best Restaurants for Birthdays in Mid-City / City Park

The food and service were great, just a bit noisy, as expected, with many celebrating. The food format, small plate tapas now, changed since our last visit a year ago, we are from out of town, but still plenty to share. Highly recommended!

Everyone was friendly and warm! More delicious food than we could eat! If you have a chance to celebrate a birthday here, just know that you will have a blast! Couldn’t have ended our stay on a brighter note than this charming, delightful restaurant! (And try the Bananas Foster, even if you don’t especially like bananas, the sauce even just on the vanilla ice cream, the story, it’s worth it even if you end up feeding most of the banana to your dining companion. ^_^) Six star service!

We visited the original location 15 years ago and were warmly greeted and had one of the best intimate dining experiences at the hidden gem. It was a MUST visit for this trip. We were pleasantly surprised Irene’s has expanded and the service has maintained the experience! If in New Orleans this is one of the greatest dining experiences all around. Everything was Absolutely Phenomenal! We were there to celebrate my brother in law's bday. My mom and I arrived a little early so we sat at the bar and had a preliminary drink at the bar. Jonah, the bartender makes the best Dirty Martinis. The rest of our party arrived about 15 mins later and we were sat. Victor, our server, provided an amazing guided experience through the menu. He was so genuinely kind and patient with us. My sister has a shellfish allergy and my mom only wanted to eat cooked beef, Victor still took his time and made the dinner special for us all. His reccommendations were spot on. The service was lightenting fast. We did not have to wait for anything, and the dining room was pretty busy. Several team members stopped by the table to check on us throughout the meal including the manager, who chatted with us for a few moments.
