- AaltheaVIPLos Angeles •22 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoI have wanted to eat at Poppy & Rose for years! Many times when I pass by on the weekends it's packed so I keep moving. I decided to make it a date and go try the food that I've heard so much about. I have also seen the Chef Michael on some of the food competitions, that I am obsessed with! To my delight, I did not order what I expected to, the waffles & fried chicken. Instead I ordered a la carte chicken sausage patty, half of an avocado, and the joyful surprise.. the biscuit! Listen, I am a biscuit Aficionado and I tell you a biscuit is good it is good. But this biscuit was better than good, it was heavenly. It was an orb of a whisper tender homemade angel biscuit with crispy, flaky, delicious layers that were so good I had to take almost an hour to enjoy every morsel. And the homemade Berry Jam was no joke either... incredibly delicious. Believe me when I tell you that if it had not cost me $30 for a half dozen biscuits I would have taken a half dozen home. My body thanks me for not doing so but boy I have been thinking about those biscuits ever since. I have had many biscuits around the city and in markets but I promise you Poppy's is the very best I have had . I promise you it is only with great restraint that I don't go over there right now and order at least three to bring home for breakfast tomorrow. Oh, and by the way, my lunch partner said his smoked beef sandwich was divine. I will definitely be back.More infoPoppy + RosePrice: Moderate• American• Flower District•4
- SSuhailVIPSan Francisco Bay Area •7 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 7, 2024A fantastic restaurant that really scratches the itch for having some diner food with a modern elegant twist. I really appreciated the potatoes and the presentation of the food. The coffee was absolutely to die for. As soon as the dark roast touched my mouth, the cup of hot coffee left my taste buds absolutely tantalizing. At a reasonable price point, this is definitely one of my new go to favorite brunch spots in Los Angeles. 10/10, will be coming back again.More infoMoonlark's DinettePrice: Moderate• American• Downtown•4.2
