Best Restaurants for Foodies in Haverstraw

Loved every minute and my pan fried catfish was divine. Loved Ryan at the bar, the band was great and it was an overall wonderful experience

I"ve been to Moderne Barn for dinner--the food is fantastic!-- and loved it but wanted to take some members of my office out for a nice lunch to thank them for their hard work this past year. Moderne Barn was the perfect place for this! It was a step above the "average" lunch restaurants that we frequent in White Plains but not too expensive or high brow for an office lunch. I was shocked at how crowded the place was for lunch--apparently I'm not the only supervisor/manager who thinks this is the best spot for an office lunch! Now that I'm aware, I will bring my team there more often.

The food was fabulous. Our server was excellent and truly made delicious recommendations. Where the mood went south was that shortly after we paid the bill and lingered in conversation enjoying the last bit of the evening with friends who we hadn’t seen in months, the hostess came to us and said she wanted to let us know she will need the table in 10 minutes. It was late Sunday night, obviously no other seatings/reservations coming, 4 other empty tables available to seat guests. No one was waiting anywhere to be seated. I completely understand that had it been earlier as the place was packed, but the night was winding down and all the tables seated were most certainly the last of the evening reservations including us. The shift in the enjoyment and mood of the evening was palpable. Not cool.

This is one of my favorite restaurants food -wise in the Tarrytown area and we adore the owner and his family. It's casual feeling with upscale food. The sandwiches and burgers are great value. Some of the appetizers and main courses are a bit expensive for a casual-feeling place, but if you understand that up front you can enjoy a wonderful meal without getting dressed up. There are always some fabulous specials to select from plus enough basics to satisfy less adventurous eaters. The market up front gives the place a special feeling and it's a wonderful place to stock up on some gourmet treats. The cheese and olive selections are standouts.

The food and service at Brother’s Fish & Chips is always exceptional. We love celebrating special occasions here as well as coming for an ordinary night out. You cannot go wrong with the tasting menu if you do choose that option. Elmer is a genius in the culinary space! Thank you Brother’s Fish and Chips for always providing an outstanding experience.
