Best Restaurants for Foodies in Upper Lake

The food was delicious and eating outside across from Lake Merritt is a pleasure! The avocado toast (with a generous serving of green salad) was beautifully prepared, as was the pastrami benedict that my partner ate (unlike many we've had, it was not drowned in hollandaise sauce but simply topped with it). My only reservation was about the eggs on the avo toast. I asked the server to make sure the yolks were "not runny." She wrote down and repeated the instruction. But when they arrived, they were totally runny. She offered to get me a scrambled egg instead - which arrived perfectly prepared. But then I was charged for it. I think if the kitchen makes an error they need to make good on it, without additional charge. Other than that, it was a wonderful meal.

My wife and I are long time Yoshi dinner and concert fans, especially when Boney James comes to town. We first say him and his group perform at Yoshi’s in San Francisco many years. Since then, we always attend his Oakland Yoshi’s performances and it’s always a great dinner and show. So for 2024, thanks once again Yoshi’s for another great dinner and show. Acre never disappoints. This was no exception. There was a delay in the kitchen and food was taking longer than usual to come out. We barely noticed because we were with old friends catching up. But the manager came out and apologized and brought us a free appetizer and comped another round of drinks, so we were all good!

A jewel box of a restaurant in Montclair. Great ambiance; service is relaxed and attentive; beautiful craft cocktails; nice wine list and fabulous food. We were there for Christmas Eve. It was warm & cozy - with a nice holiday vibe. We both had the Waygu steak - perfectly prepared with delicious potatoes Au gratin. On a prior visit, I devoured the delicious Dip hamburger. This is one of my very favorite Bay Area restaurants. Can’t wait to return.

We were back to Commis after 8 years and it did not disappoint! Great, state of art food! We will definitely be back again, hopefully sooner!
