Blacklock is a modern take of the Great British chophouse nestled in the corner of a Grade II listed textiles warehouse. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall.     We went for a friend's birthday. We were able to chat without being rushed. One friend is coeliac and the manager came to ensure her order was done safely, double checking everything very professionally. A lovely evening, great food and a good choice of non alcoholic drinks.

    Everything about this restaurant is exceptional. Every member of staff was friendly and attentive without being intrusive, from the second we arrived at the door until the second we left. We ordered the tasting menu and each dish was explained on delivery to the table. The food was unmistakably fresh, and perfectly cooked and presented. We each ordered a scallop as an extra and it was probably the best I have ever tasted. The ambience was very relaxed and added to a wonderful evening. This restaurant has got it just right. It is not inexpensive, but we both left having had a very positive and enjoyable evening with exceptional food and staff. I can’t wait to visit again. Thank you to all at Higher Ground.

    Honestly the most amazing food i’ve ever had, the service was so speedy and welcoming!! the atmosphere was great and god don’t get me started on the focaccia, it was DIVINE!! This was the best restaurant i’ve been to in Manchester 100%
