We were greeted with warmth upon our arrival for our reservation and were seated immediately, despite a long line of walk-ins. Our table was set beautifully and our server(s) were professional and knowledgeable. From cocktails through dessert every dish exceeded our expectations. The cocktails were beautifully crafted, the dishes beyond delicious and the homemade pasta to die for! We had an opportunity to meet Assistant General Manager, Karley Maes, and thanked her for the training of staff and the noted attention to detail that was notable. Upon speaking with staff, everyone acknowledged admiration and respect for the organization. We also had a moment to chat with the bartender. He was proud of the set-up and proliferation of high-end brands that were even in the well. Can’t wait to return.More infoMarisiPrice: Very Expensive• Italian• La Jolla•4.6

Next to us was a a husbands, donned in a baseball cap, his wife and two children. The children were loud, obnoxious, and continued with antics sprawling about there space. Other diners were shouting for attention at their tables, the noise level was over the top. I wanted to stand up but I’d have to scream, Quiet Down…. It was deafening, unbearable.More infoNINE-TENPrice: Expensive• Californian• La Jolla•4.7

This Christmas Eve, my family and I broke from tradition and chose to dine at Red O instead of our usual steakhouse or seafood spot. It turned out to be a fantastic decision, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our experience. Our meals were nothing short of exceptional. The Filet Mignon was perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful, while the Chicken Enchiladas were a savory blend of spices and comfort. The Rack of Lamb was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of seasoning, and the Surf & Turf offered a delightful combination of succulent grilled lobster and a juicy steak. Every dish exceeded our expectations. The service was also outstanding. Both the management and the staff were incredibly attentive, ensuring that every need was met with warmth and professionalism. It was clear that they were dedicated to making our holiday meal special, setting the tone for a wonderful evening. And of course, save room for dessert. The Tres Leches Cake was an absolute standout—a light, decadent treat that’s a must-try. If you’re a fan of butter cake, the version here is an indulgence you won’t want to miss. Overall, Red O provided the perfect setting and exceptional dining experience for our Christmas Eve celebration. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable meal in a festive atmosphereMore infoRED O Taste of Mexico - La JollaPrice: Expensive• Contemporary Mexican• La Jolla•4.4
- MMichaelVIPSan Diego •26 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoOur family of 5 were there for Christmas Eve dinner. We had reservations at 5:15 pm and were seated promptly. The service was very nice and took our drink orders and appetizer orders right away. We've been here many times before and had always enjoyed the ahi taco and calamari. This time I also had a Caesar salad which was good. The bar ran out of Bombay so could not have my usual Bombay tonic but substituted Tanqueray which was fine. The entrees included the Duke's fish, steamed fish and shrimp in the banana leaves, a filet medium rare and the seafood hot pot. And of course, you can't finish a meal without Hula pie. Our only wish for Christmas: have Prime Rib like they have at Duke's Huntington Beach. Otherwise, the experience was enjoyable and we shall be back.More infoDuke's La JollaPrice: Moderate• Hawaii Regional Cuisine• La Jolla•4.6
