Best Restaurants for Groups in Holmfirth

Read about Norman’s making the top 100 places to eat in the UK in the open table awards and wanted to see what the hype was all about! Thoroughly deserving of this, my partner and I had two nibbles and five plates between us and I can honestly say it was the best food we have ever eaten! Definitely be going back and would definitely recommend.

Fabulous restored dye house, beautiful location and ample parking. Food was delicious and service efficient but friendly. On arrival the music was a little loud, although this was turned down shortly afterwards (we didn’t say anything) menu slightly overpriced, charging extra for veg and standard sides felt a little much. However we would definitely return for a special occasion.

Everything about this restaurant is exceptional. Every member of staff was friendly and attentive without being intrusive, from the second we arrived at the door until the second we left. We ordered the tasting menu and each dish was explained on delivery to the table. The food was unmistakably fresh, and perfectly cooked and presented. We each ordered a scallop as an extra and it was probably the best I have ever tasted. The ambience was very relaxed and added to a wonderful evening. This restaurant has got it just right. It is not inexpensive, but we both left having had a very positive and enjoyable evening with exceptional food and staff. I can’t wait to visit again. Thank you to all at Higher Ground.

Honestly the most amazing food i’ve ever had, the service was so speedy and welcoming!! the atmosphere was great and god don’t get me started on the focaccia, it was DIVINE!! This was the best restaurant i’ve been to in Manchester 100%

Lovey atmospheric pub with nice friendly helpful staff. The soup was not quite as hot as one of us wanted but it was soon rectified and in fact was delicious. Will be returning again soon.
