Best Restaurants for Quiet Conversation in Avondale

Came in for dinner after a show. we ordered two Margaritas and an alcohol free cocktail. The margarita's were huge in nice Mexican style glasses. We had the calamari which was one of the best the three of us have had. huge portions of huge tender squid with this amazing non-greasy seasoned batter. A light crunch with huge flavor along with a fresh cocktail sauce. We had the garlic pepper chicken wings and three tacos, and the shrimp Alfredo pasta. The chicken wings were tender and with a slight crisp in a nice garlic and pepper oil. Comes with carrot and celery sticks and a nice ranch sauce. The shrimp past was the winner. A huge portion size with large shrimp in a wonderful Alfredo sauce with toast crostini. Only the shrimp were overcooked and a bit tough. We look forward to returning.

Every dish was exquisite and original (some entirely unique, others fresh takes on familiar things). We were a large group (8 of us). Our server (Graham) was perfectly attentive without being obsequious. An excellent pre-holiday family dinner outing!

We had a wonderful evening dining at a tavola. We had not been in many years and were happy to be back. Love the unique atmosphere and our service was outstanding. Some menu items that stand out for me were the Lemoncello martini and mushrooms to start with their bread. Loved the bolognese and short rib with risotto. For dessert we shared chocolate cake and the apple tart. Everything was delicious. We had a later reservation and were the last diners but never felt rushed- quite the opposite as our server brought over after dinner liquor in beautiful cordial glasses to share.

The Fulton is a nice trendy place with a Street but elegant spirit, we ate well although the menu is not very varied

Great local pub with excellent burgers! Super convenient if you want to grab food before or after Second City.
