Best Restaurants with Bar Seating in River North (Chicago)

Honestly, one of the best dinners we’ve had in awhile. Everything was our favorite. The food was exquisite and the service top notch. We’re already talking about returning within the week and doing it all over again.

Indulgent, and we’re very glad to have treated ourselves. We selected omakase, and only had to decide what to drink. The evening proceeded smoothly, and we left three hours later, like the cat that caught the mouse.

Food and service outstanding!! Will definitely come back next year when we visit Chicago!!

We love Bar Mar and can always count on an exceptional experience. Firstly, it’s beautiful in the restaurant, and there’s not a bad seat in the place. It’s bright, airy, luxurious and so well-designed with intricate and dazzling fixtures. Everything we’ve ever ordered has been delicious, and it’s always played so beautifully. During this visit, we ordered the burger and lobster roll (and split them since they’re both so good). Both were seasoned well and the burger had element such as peppers that provided it with an elevated and different flavor that was so savory and delicious. The lobster roll was well seasoned and cooked to perfection - very tender. Last but certainly not least, the service here is always outstanding. Our server Jefferson was so welcoming, kind and prompt. Jefferson made my sister’s birthday very special! We were surprised with some hamachi cones and key lime pie thanks- both of which were out-of-this-world delicious, and we will be ordering those when we return! Best key lime pie we have ever had! Thank you so much to Jefferson for making our day!

It was a cool fun place for late night drinks. Not a lot of food options, but the selection of cocktails and other alcoholic beverages was awesome. I like the vibe of the bar. It offered a lot of creative board games and there are a lot of seat choices, which are all very comfortable for hanging out with friends and even on a date. It offers a relaxing atmosphere in the middle of the city hustle. :)
