Best Live Music Restaurants in Bootle

This was the first time but definitely not the last time I will be going to the Puffin Rooms in Liverpool. I booked this for a friends 50th as I know he loves whiskey with the tag line that we would both try some different whiskeys we had not tried before (which for me is most of them) and the Puffin Rooms absolutely did not disappoint. I arrive first to a warm and friendly greeting , a cold beer and a lovely chat with the chap behind the bar. When my friend arrived we were shown to some very nice comfy seats for our evening. Food and drink menus were summarily provided and after a couple of mins we were greeted by our whiskey sommelier ( whiskey smith ) . . an incredibly knowledgeable young chap half our age who knows more about whiskey than I could hope to know ( I think his name was Sonny , I apologise if I have goth this wrong ) My full respect and admiration to this young chap, as this was our first time at the Puffin Rooms we put ourselves in his hands and with minimal guidance he picked out one after another after another amazing whiskeys that we have never even heard of each outstanding in its own way. We started light and worked our way up as very respectable ladder of superb whiskeys after the first 3 we ordered a little bit of food from the menu which was provided promptly. Hereafter our tastes diverged and our whiskey smith kept track and continued to provide excellent advice and commentary on separate (very different) whiskeys for us both. We were offered a cigar to go with our drinks at that time and accepted each of us being offered a different type of cigar paired with our chosen whiskey taste path. After a couple more fantastic whiskeys it was time to head home I settles a very acceptable tab, handed our whiskey smith a well deserved tip and bid him a good evening, vowing to return for another such evening in the coming months. This was a truly delicious meal in a beautifully clean and nicely decorated restaurant. The brisket and buffalo wings were absolutely delicious- some of the best myself and my partner have ever tried. The waitress (who was on her own!) was really attentive and friendly, absolutely no complaints from us on service. The music played was also brilliant and at a good volume. A few downsides, I found a lot of the food overly oily and it’s really quite expensive here. Also- if you don’t like coleslaw make sure to not get it on anything as the portions were very generous on the burger. However the quality of meat is undeniably there. I feel as thought 4/5 is an accurate depiction of what to expect! I reckon we will be back and we would recommend this place to others.

Lovely visit today- the staff were very attentive and the food was excellent. Gorgeous venue in the old bank with a great ambience.

really good mocktails - it’s not on the menu so you have to ask. we got strawberry daiquiris and piña coladas and they were so good!! will be coming back! I think the lady who gave us the food was in such a rush everytime she gave our appetizers she could’ve just waited and said what each item was over the noise and ask if we needed anything (because we did). Asian guy who served us the drinks to our table was so lovely! Live music was a lovely touch.

Absolutely beautiful food , staff were amazing it was quite busy but we were served quickly. I will definitely go again the only downside was the music was so loud against all the talking it made it slightly uncomfortable. However it wouldn’t stop me going again.
