Best Restaurants for Local Ingredients in Granville Island

The food here was outstanding in every possible way. The service was fantastic. The wait staff was pleasant and explained everything perfectly and gave us the best recommendations for both food and drinks. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Wished they used fresh grated wasabi as the paste downgraded the experience. Tojo roll was good, but was not rolled out evenly, we even found shell in one of the pieces, not what I expected from this restaurant. Asked for our tea to be filled up; but a new pot came and was charged for it, wouldn’t mind paying but would have been nice to have a heads up. The hon maguro toro was the highlight.

Nice dining experience and the dishes are creative. Noteworthy for me is the lamb skewers cooked to perfection , crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the XO risotto, the umami of the XO sauce nicely complements the richness the risotto. However, the steak fell short for me. Although it was grilled on both sides, the steak was cold. I like my steaks medium-rare but this steak felt like a rare.

Absolutely fantastic experience! The hosts were so kind and attentive, and made it a personal experience for us. We weren’t rushed at all, and the food and ambiance was great. We had the chefs tasting menu and it was pricy, but I think it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. I’d highly recommend it!
