Best Restaurants with a Tasting Menu in Downtown Phoenix

Had the opportunity to take my daughter, her husband and their French foreign exchange student to dinner with my wife and I. All three are vegetarian while my wife and I are not. Everyone was able to find exceptional dishes that exceeded their expectations. This has become one of our favorite restaurants in Phoenix and its proximity to Sky Harbor makes for a great place to take folks from out of town when arriving in the late afternoon or early evening. Never disappoints

KEEP THE GNOCCI ON THE MENU! The gnocci dish with the bone marrow was unbelievable. We’ve traveled the world and this was a dish that stopped our conversation in its tracks as all we could do was focus on those spectacular flavors swirling around our taste buds. Please for the love of all that’s holy keep it on the menu. Also the beef tartare was amazing! It had a very unique lightness and almost citrusy tone that complimented the beef. The bread was amazing, unique color of course, but it had the perfect texture and density for the tartare. Only downside of the evening was the shrimp we got was overcooked, but still delicious. We will be coming back with friends 100%, but keep that gnocci on the menu! P.S. Have to give the front of house staff some love. They were so on top of their game for a packed house. Friendly, kept our water full always, knew the menu inside out, and the little detail of folding my wife’s napkin while she was in the restroom was beautiful. The beauty is in the details.

“One bite transported back to Rome!” My friend told me about this place and urged me to visit and compare with my recent trip to Italy. I am so glad I listened! I ordered the Carbonara, the Bucatini was perfectly cooked and the Guanciale was a great addition to balance out the entire dish (ok I’m getting hungry again), my friend had a spaghetti with red sauce she said had the perfect amount of sauce the was so flavorful. We enjoyed a bottle of Amarone and great conversations with the bartender JP and GM Steph. This place is so welcoming we will be back to try the pizza, that the table behind us was raving about!

Since our last visit nearly a year ago, Anhelo has changed from a simple dinner menu to a course-based approach. We quite like this approach but while it gives many choices, it is also a bit limiting for the table because everyone is required to select the same course. Granted, there are numerous choices and add-ins but I'm sure it helps simplify things for the kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience with Anhelo. The petite course is definitely a lot of food when you consider the bread serving and the formage we added to our dining experience. I wouldn't skip the wine pairing either - they have a tremendous cellar and they paired well with each course. The staff is amazingly coordinated and synchronized throughout the night. Can't say enough about the service and professionalism of everyone. We'll be back!

Great selection of cocktails and nibbles (from food truck). Very knowledgeable staff and enjoyable environment.
