- TTHOMASSan Diego •1 review5.0Dined 5 days agoGreat restaurant for a casual upscale dinner. It has a new chef and I am hopeful it does well. It uses farm to table concept and this time of year there isn’t much farming in the area. That concept will function better in the spring and summer, IMHO.More infoCollette’sPrice: Very Expensive• Farm-to-table• Escondido•4.7
- JJohnvipSan Diego •8 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoGot reservations for seats at the bar. There is a tasting menu, as well as a separate bar menu, mostly small plates. Cocktails from menu are twists on classic cocktails, and they were truly extraordinary, as well as the off menu cocktails we ordered, and we've sampled some of the best. Food sampled at bar: Crudo, Tartare, Pain et Beurre, and Gougere. All were phenomenal. Service at bar was very attentive and knowledgable, they know what they're doing, and they do it well. Cool vibe and music playing from reel to reel player in bar. Very open, busy kitchen with frequent calls from cooks, "Oui, chef!" Great for foodies and cocktail nerds. Pricey, some may not appreciate the value.More infoJeune et JoliePrice: Very Expensive• Contemporary French• Carlsbad•4.9
- EElizabethvipSan Diego •41 reviews5.0Dined on Oct 27, 2024We had been to Brickman's for dinner a few days earlier and had an amazing truffle burger and salad (we both had the same) followed by a chocolate chip cookie desert that was fabulous. So we decided to try brunch. This is a no frills menu of all your favorite things, burger, pancakes, a twist on eggs benedict but my husbands eyes widened at the size of the breakfast burrito which was fabulous and I couldn't have been happier with my smoked salmon toast on sourdough bread. It was scrumptious. Add to that a perfect peach bellini (not too peach and not too sweet) and we call this brunch a success!More infoBrickmans Restaurant & Bar (formerly The Grill)Price: Moderate• American• San Marcos•4.5
