Best Romantic Restaurants in Hayward

My wife and I have been to Horatio's several times recently. All meals were for one of the Holidays. Xmas, New Years and Valentines Day. We went back because the reservations and seating, meal service and food were very good to outstanding, consistently. This visit, out server was Eric who was, like previous meals, friendly and efficient eve with a holiday crowd. Food was tasty and more than ample. The Holiday "for two" , menu choices were well thought out. We will continue to visit Horatio's, next time for a non-holiday meal. GN Alameda., CA

We came for Valentine's Day and had a prix fixe dinner for 2 and it was great! Each course was excellent with lots of seafood. The crab & avocado app was a huge pile of fresh avocado and crab. The amuse bouche was a shot of creamy lobster bisque. The crab ravioli was in a super tasty sauce with big raviolis stuffed full of crab chunks. The surf & turf main had a giant 12 oz lobster tail that had just a bit of nice char on it from the brick oven. The steak was a nice little filet though it was more medium than the medium rare that we actually ordered (in fact, the steak was the least good item at dinner!). Dessert was a nice, super light chocolate lava cake with a sugar cookie and vanilla ice cream on the side. We also got a couple cocktails which were super tasty. One was a rum & campari & pineapple drink that had great flavors. The other was a dirty martini with the Roquefort stuffed olives. Both were quite good, though maybe a bit pricer than they should have been. The ambiance was nice, especially for Valentine's Day. Each table got a long stem rose and each person got a complimentary glass of champagne. The service was a bit slow at times, but overall not bad.

It was a great time to eat on this restuarant. Its our second time. Food is great servers are amazing.

I remember the first time I went to the Slanted door in the city 20 years ago when it was in the Mission. The food was as good the first time I tried it. The wine selection could be more interesting like it was back then, having said that, the Pinot Noir I ordered was good. Always love the papaya salad and the Shaking Beef. Also had the bok choy in oyster sauce which was good with the beef but nothing unique. Lovely service, our attendant was sweet and attentive. The food and ambience Never disappoints. Our thoughtful complimentary glasses of bubbly to celebrate my friend's birthday won me over to return soon. I felt treated very well.

I have to give Neumanali a stellar review, but I almost hate to do so because it’s one of those hidden gems that you want to keep secret so you can kind of keep it for yourself. I had been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time and unfortunately had to cancel a prior reservation due to an unforeseen event. This time around, we were able to keep our reservation and were so glad to get to experience this fantastic restaurant in downtown Hayward. We drove out from San Ramon and I can assure you it is worth driving a lot further for. The service from the one man who was holding down the entire serving area by himself was excellent. The ambience and noise level were great; it was easy to have a conversation at our table, yet there was still some nice music in the background. The food was absolutely delicious. (Highly recommend the prosciutto wrapped prawns as an appetizer). We were also surprised to see a reasonably priced wine list which included some top-notch wines. I had a house salad, very tasty, and we both had salmon which was cooked to perfection. We ended the meal with the house bread pudding, which was just the right amount of moist. Overall, a really great experience. To provide a balanced review, if there is any negative, it is the tight parking in the back, but what can you do about that? Just be prepared for it.
