Best Romantic Restaurants in Norwalk

Lovely restaurant, amazing food and drinks. Service did not match the other amazing qualities of the restaurant. Maybe just an off night. Will definitely be back.

It is my hope that pizza is added to the menu as an appetizer option. Not sure why it is not available since their pizza down the street is delicious. It was missed from our meal and would have added value. Just a few small details away from being a wonderful Osteria.

Dined here with two friends for my birthday. I had dined here once before two months ago and returned because of the lobster bisque. The first time I also ordered a medium rare filet mignon, it was under seasoned. Last night I ordered the salmon and it was perfectly cooked. The skin was crisp and the fish was juicy cooked perfectly to about a medium well. The cranberry sauce it came with was winner. We were able to order the seasonal pumpkin old fashioned, which I lived on my first visit. My friend also loved it. My other friend ordered the spicy mezcal cocktail, something bells. That was also great! We also ordered a steak tartare to start and it was okay, we felt it needed something other than the egg yolk, maybe a light vinaigrette drizzle. My friend ordered a side Mac and cheese and it was not cheesy. She also ordered a crab cake for her meal as she does not eat a lot, she absolutely loved it. Tartar sauce was very good. She ordered a French onion soup to start and also loved it. We ended the evening with glasses of Bordeaux and the crème brûlée that was on the house for the birthday celebration. Brûlée was amazing. Perfect consistency. Bordeaux was soooo good. My friend ordered an affogato and loved it. Our experience was great, our server was attentive and funny, great vibe and went through the menu nicely. We loved her. The rest itself is very very quiet, you can hear your thoughts even though they somehow have music playing. Beautiful place and table set up.

As always, we were greeted warmly, we were quickly seated in a (requested) booth. We usually start with the amazing rice balls, (I can’t spell or pronounce the word). My dining partner, who loves scallops, very much enjoyed the delicious risotto that comes with the scallops. I ordered a new dish, for me, I had the appetizer of clams and mussels. I’m sure I didn’t carefully read the menu, and was surprised to find that the dish was very tomato forward. I prefer lighter sauces. I ate the clams and mussels and left an almost full dish of tomato. I didn’t send it back because I thought it was my error in ordering. They have been very accommodating in the past when there had been a concern about an order. The servers are friendly and pleasant and appear to enjoy working there. Last night, our service was less attentive, I think it may have been because we were in a corner booth and maybe more difficult to observe. I think it was an “one off” because service is usually on point. This remains one of our favorite restaurants!

I’m a guy who doesn’t usually write reviews. Good food and service are expected when I go for a night out. But, Azabu is a place where simply goes above and beyond expectation to give you a high-end, premium experience. It is so awesome to them in Whittier! Definitely a place to go when you want to impress a date or you have a special occasion to celebrate! Every time I come, I keep ordering different things on the menu, and I am never disappointed! The sushi is always high-end. This time I ordered the Charred octopus as an appetizer - I mean, it was SO GOOD! I’ll be ordering this again and again! Also had their delicious signature sushi roll with wagyu beef slices. It comes out with an incredible presentation, unveiled with mysterious smoke swirling around it. The wagyu is melt in your mouth, and I absolutely LOVE the subtle tinge of smokiness that is imparted to the flavors. On past visits, I have ordered Japanese beers and sake. They have some delicious high end options that you don’t get at other sushi restaurants (even really good ones). On this visit we explored several different cocktails. Every single one was smooth and well balanced. We were celebrating, right, so I was delighted to try their top level old fashioned., and yes it is actually worth the price tag! When you come here, this is not a place to skimp, it’s a place to celebrate and treat yourself to a premium experience. Don’t be afraid to try the high end items, I promise you, they will be worth it! I have to give a shout out to Christine, our server - So attentive and friendly! No five star experience is complete without staff that can make you feel relaxed, comfortable, and welcomed. At Azabu you get a super special, high-end experience without any snootiness or snobbishness that could ruin the vibe. Everything about the place is a high-end experience, from the beautiful murals on the walls to the chairs you sit on. The owners of Azabu know how to dot their I’s and cross their T’s!
