Accessed from the High Street and through a glass lobby, Quod restaurant with its terrace and bar, forms the hub of the Old Bank Hotel. Formerly a banking hall it was transformed by owner Jeremy Mogford to become Oxford's largest and most successful restaurant. Stylish, contemporary design describes the space which houses an amazing collection of young British art. Sandra Blow, Craigie Aitchinson and Gary Hume adorn the walls. There is a spectacular terrace where diners can enjoy a morning coffee, the superb value two course lunch or a cocktail.

Guests and locals alike can enjoy classic British and European cuisine at Restaurant 66a in Oxford’s Cotswold Lodge Hotel. The 4-star hotel is located within walking distance of Oxford’s historic city centre, making it the perfect stop-off after a day of sight-seeing there or in the nearby Cotswolds. The elegant, modern dining room at Restaurant 66a is gracefully fitted into the lovely Georgian building, retaining the authentic fireplace, high ceilings and bay windows, and adding smart wood and brass fittings and luxe upholstery. In summer, the garden courtyard is the most romantic spot in town. Menus here change regularly - the chef employs the freshest seasonal ingredients, sourced locally wherever possible - although there’s always a range of classic European flavour combinations on offer. Choose from cream of pumpkin soup with truffle oil or roast lamb with dauphinoise potato, red cabbage and rosemary jus. Fancy a great fish and chips or steak? We do that too!

The service we received from our waitress Lucy today was outstanding. We are a family of 4 who enjoyed a lovely pre Christmas lunch today. Lucy was friendly and professional and went the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our time. A huge thank you to her. We will be back.

Lovely pre-Christmas meal in central Oxford. We booked early after spending the day shopping and felt welcome and unhurried, although I’m sure they had a busy service. I also liked the layout - tables weren’t cramped together despite it being a compact venue. My oysters were spectacularly good, and my black bream main was cooked perfectly. My party also ate kidneys, rabbits and steak and had desserts. My chocolate dessert was a little one-dimensional, and the bread and sides were quite ambitiously priced for the quantity provided. However, overall, we thought this was a very enjoyable meal cooked and presented with evident skill and care.

Delightful Christmas decorations at Quod as ever and lovely lively atmosphere but not at all too noisy, noisy as it sometimes can be. Delicious meal perfectly served; my beef carpaccio was sweet melt in your mouth lovely, my main of duck was rare as I like it, tender and tasty and the accompanying celeriac mash utterly delicious. A clementine sorbet to follow was perfect. Service was excellent (didn't catch the waiters name I'm afraid), so what more can you ask -it was quite expensive at £150 for two with wine and water as you might expect reflecting the quality!.

The website seems to be out of date, it suggests fine dining with seasonal produce but upon arrival we were met with the ‘all day’ menu which, whilst very nice, wasn’t the reason we booked this hotel. The food was very nice but ‘pub grub’ with one or two exceptions. Two choices of dessert, crumble or sticky toffee pudding. Expected a dining experience as the website mentions duck, blue cheese soufflé etc but sadly it didn’t deliver what we thought we had booked.

This is my favourite Afternoon Tea venue in Oxford, you can't beat it for ambience, price, parking and relaxation plus the food is lovely! Not sure if some of the sandwich choices had been changed for Christmas but they weren't the usual fayre this time. Nevertheless, the team do go out of their way to do what they can for you, they are not hovering over you endlessly and you can get as many refills on the tea etc as you like. I always look forward to going back and I will be looking forward to my next afternoon tea trip back here again!
