- MMelissaVIPToronto / Ontario •7 reviews5.0Dined 1 day ago10/10, blew away my expectations and I already had high expectations. Went for brunch with. my family, and every single person (including the kids) was overjoyed with how amazing the food was. We love being able to watch the chefs do their thing in the kitchen!More infoAlderPrice: Expensive• American• King West•4.6
- AAnnikaNew York City •2 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoIt was my first time at Akira Back for my anniversary and I was taken aback. Firstly, the ambience is beautiful with a lot of attention to detail, a modern design and low lighting - perfect for a date night! Our server Rishi was extremely attentive throughout the night, providing recommendations, free champagne and dessert with a personalized anniversary note handwritten across the plate. She also was so detail-oriented as to fold my fiancé's napkin when he went to the bathroom. Three different servers made a point to wish us a "Happy Anniversary," which we were grateful for. Next, the food was outstanding! I would highly recommend the Grilled Alaskan King Crab (the presentation was stellar and taste was A+) and any of the sushi rolls! The tuna just melts in your mouth. Ugh! We also had the Miso Black Cod which was glazed in a sweet, buttery sauce. The Ribeye was good but not great because all the others were so unique compared to what we're used to when dining out. All in all, I'd highly recommend. Though this is not a cheap place to eat, it's so worth it for a special occasion. Also bonus points for the photo ops in the staircase!More infoAkira BackPrice: Very Expensive• Asian• Entertainment District•4.8
- PPaulineToronto / Ontario •2 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoAlo is a masterclass in modern fine dining, offering an unforgettable tasting menu experience in the heart of Toronto. From the moment you arrive, the attention to detail is evident—impeccable service, a beautifully curated ambiance, and a menu that seamlessly blends innovation with classic technique. Each dish in the tasting menu is a work of art, showcasing seasonal ingredients with exquisite flavors and textures. The courses flow effortlessly, with highlights ranging from delicate seafood preparations to perfectly executed meats and creative vegetable-forward dishes. Every bite is balanced, refined, and deeply satisfying. Service at Alo is nothing short of exceptional. The waitstaff is attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about every aspect of the menu, and genuinely passionate about creating a memorable experience. Their ability to anticipate needs and personalize the evening makes the meal even more special. The ambiance is intimate and elegant, with a warm, modern design that makes you feel at ease while still maintaining an air of sophistication. Watching the chefs at work in the open kitchen adds to the experience, highlighting the precision and artistry that goes into every dish. Overall, Alo delivers on every level—flawless food, impeccable service, and an atmosphere that makes the entire experience feel effortless.More infoAlo RestaurantPrice: Very Expensive• International• Entertainment District•4.9
- DDanielSan Diego •6 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoWe finally tried Alo after hearing much great things. We sat at “The Bar at Alo” for a St-Valentines fixed menu. The Service was outstanding from all staff and the food / cocktails were indeed deserving of their Michelin Star. Ambiance and decor in the bar area was a bit dark for our taste. I found the prices to be a bit steep, but not outside the norm at this level. The wine pairing was interesting and will get two of their featured bottles. However, I wonder why they chose to feature a US bottle in their pairing at this particular time. Overall great experience, will likely try their main dining area in the near future.More infoThe Bar at Alo RestaurantPrice: Very Expensive• International• Entertainment District•4.8

Third - the food was not only beautifully presented, it was all perfectly prepared and very, very good, with many interesting and appealing options on the menu. My best meal out in Toronto in quite a while.More infoLeePrice: Expensive• Asian• King West•4.8
