A social atmosphere fit for a president. Join us where vibrant cocktail culture meets fun elegance and comfort food at this Dupont Circle neighborhood favorite. It is said that while President Theodore Roosevelt loved to eat, to him the dinner table was less an occasion for fine dining than as a springboard for conversations. In keeping with this, we have created a stunning interior design for Teddy and the Bully Bar that keeps patrons talking. Reflecting Theodore Roosevelt’s love for simple American comfort food, including steaks, oysters, fried chicken and house-made cornbread, our seasonal menus feature a contemporary twist on classic comfort dishes with a focus on quality, local and simplicity. We pay special attention to sourcing from our local producers, representing President Roosevelt’s belief to “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” We offer an exciting happy hour, energetic bottomless brunch (Sundays), and a perfect match of social energy and food culture.

I would have rated the noise level as excellent, but there was a wedding going on upstairs that was extremely loud, and it kind of ruined the ambiance of the quiet jazz lounge feel later in the evening. With that said, the lounge, atmosphere, music, food, service, and coziness were all perfect! We especially appreciated our server Lauren, who was so friendly and attentive. She even reserved us a table, even though they usually do not reserve tables, because we asked for a cozy corner in the lounge to celebrate our wedding and first Thanksgiving weekend as a married couple. She also brought us a celebratory dessert drink, which was delicious. We can't wait to go back, and will definitely take friends and visitors to DC. The manager, Alyshea, was amazing also!

We had the prix fixe Thanksgiving dinner. The seafood spread was plentiful and fresh, they were putting fresh seafood out about every 5 minutes. All 3 courses were perfectly cooked apart from the octopus which my friend found to be a little on the salty side, she loved the pasta and sauce that came with it. I had the prime filet and it lived up to the definition “melt in your mouth tender”. The service was perfect, Daniel Penda who attended to us was friendly, attentive, and always had a smile on. Everyone else was very friendly and we had several people check on us at appropriate times to see that we were having a lovely dinner. I definitely would recommend for a special occasion or fancy dinner. The ambiance at The Pembroke is perfect for that.

Thanksgiving feast was wonderful. I had the pumpkin soup, and my husband had the smoked salmon ceasar for the starter course. The carving station gave large portions, the turkey was cooked perfectly, and the sides were favorful and savory. The staff was professional and friendly. Thank you for being open today.

We had a GORGEOUS dinner with my in-laws the night before Thanksgiving. We've heard great things about Iron Gate, but truly everything from the service, to the items we ordered (and multiple little extras the chef sent out) were extraordinary. The chocolate dessert, we all agreed, was one of the best of our lives. Truly a hospitality-driven experience and we can't wait for an excuse to head back.
