Christopher Hirsheimer and Melissa Hamilton—the women behind Canal House Station—are cooks, writers, and artists. In 2007 they founded Canal House, which includes a publishing venture and a culinary, photography, and design studio. Their cookbook "Canal House Cooks Every Day" received a James Beard Award in 2012. In 2019, Christopher and Melissa opened Canal House Station, a hidden gem tucked into an elegantly restored 1870s train station on the banks of the Delaware River in Milford, NJ. Their idiosyncratic, modern American cuisine is inspired by local ingredients that are ripe and in season in Hunterdon and Bucks County. They are two women, cooking together, and sharing their love of gathering people around the table to eat good food.     What a treasure to the Stockton area. We had an amazing evening at Northridge. The food was outstanding, the service was top notch. On top of all that, the restaurant is simply beautiful in a bucolic setting. Wishing them much success and looking forward to coming back soon!

    Restaurant was recommended by a coworker. I've heard others talk it up. Great experience. Food was fantastic. We will go again. Side note...it was 8 degrees out and we got to watch ice drift down the Delaware, which was pretty neat.

    Hidden gem worth the trip from NYC. Friendly and attentive staff. Dishes are an interesting combination of flavors and local farm to table selections such as the Wild Boar Chops and Red Snapper with crabmeat. Nice wine and Single Malt choices with a comfortable bar. Fresh, elevated and delicious. Live music on Wednesday to Saturday.

    It is extraordinary to find well prepared food today. CHS prepares well sourced food exquisitely. The atmosphere is warm and comforting. The service is attentive and not intrusive. The generosity of Melissa and Christopher is palpable. I always leave with a smile on my face and a pleasantly full tum.
