Best Seasonal Restaurants in Kohala Coast

Even with having made reservations months in advance, notating that we were celebrating a birthday and being Marriott Ambassador level guests, we were given a table that was tucked back a bit from a view . What made this a little more disappointing is that full view tables remained open/unused for the duration our meal. Food was good but the pacing was off. We ordered 6-7 dishes and we a bit surprised to have them ALL on our table within 5 minutes of ordering with two being lukewarm (gambas and piquillos). If we hadn’t ordered a second round of crudo and kebabs, we would have been done with our meal faster than a McDonalds visit.

Highly recommend this restaurant We were a family of 10 and received the best meal and service of our vacation. Our server was friendly attentive and fun. The food was outstanding. There was live music that was enjoyable as background music. Not too loud and a talented musician. Only problem is they are so popular you need to reserve long in advance but well worth the effort.

We booked a last minute reservation after our first choice fell through. We really enjoyed the food and the view! The family ordered grilled halloumi and watermelon for apps. Salads I recommend the burrata and papaya. For entrees I recommend kebabs, caccio e Pepe, branzino. The side of mushrooms went really well with the noodles.

Canoe House is a special place. The food is truly remarkable. The setting is gorgeous. Our server Dean was outstanding. He really helped make the experience special. He knows the menu and all the ingredients in great detail and was flexible in the way we ordered - allowing is to get half orders of various dishes so that we could create interesting combos. The restaurant is very expensive without a doubt. But they deliver in every way.

Hotel is under construction, but don't let that stop you from having a fabulous meal with a great view. The entire staff is impeccable, from check in person to bartender to server to the bus boy. If you are in the area or want to take a drive north from Kona, we highly recommend this establishment. First Class Award goes to this great property.
