Open since October of 1990, The Dakota has been a pioneer in the culinary industry on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain.     I had a fillet, which may have been the best steak I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to many great steakhouses. This was unexpected as I thought of the restaurant as an Italian place.  a waitress, Brooke, was very attentive, sweet and adorable. A Valentine date was all that needed to be.

    Early Valentine dinner for us. Big fans of Desi Vega on the south shore and the Mandeville location does not disappoint. Turtle soup, Ribeye and Creme Brulet for me and Filet, Lyonnaise potatoes and Cheesecake for her. Everything especially the steaks were cooked perfectly. Seth our waiter did a great job and we will be back soon.

    Very special treat to drive from Memphis just to eat here. Our server, Shawn, is a delight. Very attentive, personable, knowledgeable and overall a good/nice person. The food…. AMAZING! The detailed presentation and flavor is 5 star plus. Atmosphere is energetic, romantic, and relaxing. Will definitely make the drive again just to eat here. Thank you for the incredible experience!
