- NNancyVIPGreater Boston •27 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWe had a delightful Monday evening dining here. We had three appetizers, and our servers did a wonderful job of timing them so we could enjoy each on its own. The mushroom platter never disappoints, and we also enjoyed a cheese plate and delicious mussels. We like to go places where it isn’t too noisy, and the smaller size and table arrangement here allows for good conversation with just the right amount of liveliness.More infoFarmstead TablePrice: Expensive• Farm-to-table• Newton•4.7
- IIrvinSeattle / Eastern Washington •5 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoButtonwood was a great weeknight dinner experience. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. She treated our kids exceptionally and even brought out a canoli dessert for my son's birthday. The food was seasoned well and executed perfectly. We had a table of 4 adults and 2 children, and we shared much of the menu. I enjoyed the pork chop dish the most but liked everything I tried. I can see why it's hard to get a reservation for this restaurant, and I will be returning soon.More infoButtonwoodPrice: Expensive• American• Newton•4.7

In assessing the likes and dislikes of our group; different people hold their opinion of likes and dislikes- some like music, some don’t or maybe the volume, whatever. The menu while not voluminous offers a range of great stuff- from cheese to a fantastic rotisserie, fresh bread; if you want chicken and a green salad, you can get that too- in my opinion don’t complain ‘if you can do it better at home’, then don’t go out. Three people, no booze but tea and sparkling water- bread comes with cheese, we got two- a spicy feta and a fried one w pistachios, awesome; fried mushrooms, a cabbage salad and a lemon chicken filo pie- then a leg of lamb dish from the rotisserie and a bowl of potatoes, all fantastic- rounded out w a dark chocolate hardened mousse w hazlenuts and a blackberry and candied hazelnut garnish. $158 w lunch for two tomorrow from leftovers. - IIleneVIPGreater Boston •5 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoAs usual, a great meal thoughtfully prepared. The Valentine’s Day menu included 3 shared appetizers, a choice of 3 entrees and a choice of 2 desserts. The food is always creative and interesting- not the standard boring fare at other places. Service was attentive even though they were very busy. Always at the top of our list.More infoMIDA - NewtonPrice: Moderate• Italian• Newton•4.7
