Best Restaurants for Special Occasions in Chinatown / Kensington Market

The minestrone was one of the best soups I have ever had. I ate the whole bowl which I rarely do for a starter. The croque Madame was good but hard to eat because of the eggs on top of it. The salad was nice. The Don Valley Violette had grapefruit in it but it was not overwhelming. It was refreshing. Overall, it was very good meal.

Michael is the goat. He is the best restaurant staff member I’ve ever seen. Go here if you want to be treated right.

Everything was excellent. Server and kitchen went above and beyond to accommodate dishes to suit a table for one, although they weren’t asked. I can’t wait to go back!

From the thoughtful seating arrangement overlooking a vibrant display of fresh seafood, seasonal vegetables, and fruits to the attentive service that paired our meal with a delightful bottle of Petit Chablis Blanc, every detail was expertly curated. The evening culminated in a celebratory dessert of Greek yogurt, elegantly garnished with pomegranate seeds and mint—a perfect ending to a remarkable experience. Our meal began with house-made bread and olive oil, complemented by a refreshing tomato salad as an appetizer. For the main course, we enjoyed expertly grilled Balada fish accompanied by steamed broccoli and succulent lamb chops. The server’s meticulous walkthrough of the fresh seafood selection, artfully presented on ice, added an engaging touch, highlighting the restaurant’s dedication to authentic Greek cuisine. This establishment comes highly recommended, and we eagerly anticipate returning with friends in the near future. Love it here my favorite restaurant in Toronto. Working a very NYC vibe in Kensington market with phenomenal staff, delicious food in a fun comfortable arty room. Sat at the kitchen bar: a front row seat to watching the chefs do their magic. Last night was a special tasting menu, highlights for me were the Crueler with Crab, the green chili, pancetta and collard paparadelle and the delicious sour dough. A perfect evening with a shout out to Rob the sommelier and my waiter who made the night with his attentive, friendly and knowledgeable service.
