La Toscana is a family owned and operated Italian restaurant and bar located in Marin County. It was established in 1985 by Paolo Mori, his wife, Marilyn, and Michele Quilici. The owners all grew up in Lucca, Italy and immigrated to the U.S. in the late 1950s. The service was as good as it gets. Miguel was so attentive. I had the lamb shank. It was excellent! We had the grilled artichoke. It was a little undercooked but everything else was perfect. We were seated in the bar area. It was a tad noisy but there are options for quieter seating. Overall a very good experience. Super friendly and present. I recommend this place!!!

We celebrate all our special occasions at Insalata, including using the banquet room for a major birthday party, bemuses of the total experience which includes the food, wait service and atmosphere of the restaurant. It's our favorite restaurant in Marin.

Our food was so delicious. We all had something different and tasted each other’s. From oysters to mussels to prime rib to beef bourgignon, the food was stupendous. The service was good and the general manager Kevin was great! We will be back. It was a lovely Christmas Eve.

Great night, menu varied enough to meet the needs of four picky eaters, even one who needed gluten free options. Our elderly hard of hearing member did complain later in the evening, as it got much busier, that he had a little trouble hearing. All in all wonderful food and very pleasant evening.
