Best Restaurants for Special Occasions in Phillipsburg, New Jersey

We enjoyed our lunch very much. We didn’t realize that they were serving brunch only until our server informed us, but there was a nice selection to choose from. Our server was great! She didn’t rush us, but did remind us when it was getting close to the buffet shutting down. She also kept our coffee and tea cups filled.

First time at the restaurant. Made reservations through Open Table. Service was very, very good. Many times, we were checked on and promptly our orders were taken. I had the duck, and my wife had tuna. Excellent courses and the desert was really good. Creme Brule. I will definitely come back to this restaurant. The windows looking over the river and city were great part of the 7th floor experience.

Even though it was Valentine’s Day the service and food were excellent! Some restaurants are so busy it doesn’t turn out that way. I had a very creative halibut dish with olives and sweet raisins etc over a cauliflower potato mash. Yummy! My husband had bacon wrapped filet and they were very kind about substituting one of the sides. I love that the Black Bass Hotel restaurant has French press coffee at lunch and dinner!

The View at Morgan Hill is almost a 10/10. The food is exceptional and the price point is more affordable than most restaurants. Gabby was our server. She was kind, polite, patient and informative. I advise that if someone orders a bottle of wine that the wine is opened tableside and a taste is poured for the guest that ordered the bottle. We had the mushroom tart and shrimp bisque with the cotton candy bomb and espresso/strawberry martini. Outstanding. Then we had the filet MR and the veal osso busco with a bottle of Ocnautic Cabernet. Again outstanding. We ended with chocolate cake with hot tea and coffee. They provided complimentary prosecco. Service was a little slow which isn't the norm and our sever was very apologetic. Food was amazing as usual. We started with the baked oysters, which were decadent and full of flavor. I had the Chilean sea bass (perfectly cooked and oh, so, buttery) and my husband had the duck two ways. Absolutely no room for dessert, you get a lot of food!
