Best Vegan Restaurants in Middletown

An amazing ambiance celebrating the Cuban culture! Started off with bread wrapped in newspaper depicting a print from the 1950’s. Guava butter and cilantro lime butter were offered. Both were delicious! Tried the shrimp ceviche that has a tomato base with thinly sliced red onion, and cilantro. It was very refreshing just as the waitress described. My husband ordered the Ropa Vieja en Lata and didn’t know it means “beef in a can”. It was served table side by a waiter that described the canning process and the titles meaning. He proceeded to open and serve the perfectly cooked beef along with white rice and fried plantains. I had the salmon Varadero served with yellow rice and fried plantains. I could not resist adding a side of black beans. Everything exceeded our expectations! The service was impeccable and we will be back!

Great meal. A little pricey and odd that there was a service charge on top of an included 20% gratuity. Weirdly long gap between the dinner course and dessert, when the desserts all seemed to be pre prepared anyways. This was a special menu on Valentine's Day ymmv.

Food was great. Took a little while to get our main meal but it was packed because of Valentines Day and to be expected. Appetizers and drinks were out quickly. Good flavor on the food. Will go back.

Get a burger! We enjoyed the 80/20 burger with fries, dark meat chicken with potatoes and biscuit and gravy and a side of onion rings. Our physicians may not approve of that meal but our taste buds and bellies were happy. My husband and I like to order and share so I had a taste of everything. We both thought the burger was the star of the show but enjoyed everything very much. The chicken has a lot of breading and it was seasoned well and super crispy, the biscuit was fluffy and the gravy was well seasoned. The onion rings were well balanced with breeding and a generous portion. The only issue is that I like fries and onion rings fresh from the fryer and I think they came from under a heat lamp. The service was the very best part! As we were still placing our order the onion rings came out to the table, they have an electronic ordering system. There was so much staff working together that everything ran smoothly and quickly. Their Happy Hour can't be beat! We each had two drinks and my cocktail definitely packed a punch at a very reasonable price. We will definitely return to enjoy more of their menu and the Malt Shop attached to the restaurant.

Server was great. Took the time to help us figure out what to order. She knew pretty much all of the items. She checked on us all throughout the evening. Sat in the bar area. It was quiet as it was after 8 on a Friday night. The bartender even changed the channel so we could watch a favorite sports team. Food was plenty and delicious.
