The Lexington is more than a restaurant, it’s an institution. Located on the corner of Lexington Parkway and Grand Avenue, this St. Paul community was the most fashionable at the turn of the 19th century. The St. Paul elite lived just blocks away and the first electric trolley brought visitors up and down Grand Avenue. The Lexington opened in 1935, after the end of prohibition, and was a popular neighborhood bar to gather and socialize. Such a cute concept! The food was really excellent. Small bites that reminded me of a “high tea” vibe but with yummy cocktails instead. Though it’s not in an actual old train car, it is impressive how they create the ambiance of one. My only criticism would be that though there was Christmas music playing, it was very quiet and we could hear every word of conversations next to us. My wife and I said we would do this again though next year if there’s another menu to experience.

Amazing bloody mary and mimosa bar, almost a meal in themselves! We were celebrating a birthday, which got us a free photo booth token and dessert to share. I didn't realize how big this place is! We were seated in the quieter dining side, but the live music playing in the other area wasn't too loud. Looks like a nice happy hour, too, so we'll have to return soon for that!
