In June 1896, the trolley system that linked St. Charles, Geneva, Batavia, Aurora, and Elgin, IL began to offer service to local citizens. Overhead wires that ran along the track supplied the power to the single, open-air cars.The trolley came from South Elgin and traveled along the east side of the river, through the St. Charles Country Club and along Route 25. From Main Street, it went west, crossed over the bridge, and turned south on 3rd Street to go to Geneva.It was at this last turn that conductors would stop the trolley and allow passengers to disembark for a quick drink to warm up during the winter months. There were 6 of us dining on a busy Christmas Day for dinner. The place was very busy but our server James did an excellent job taking care of us. Out cocktails came out quickly and the food was delicious. We all had a great time and I look forward to dining at Mia Moto again soon.

Food was great. Dawn, our server, was fun, friendly, and attentive. She was quick to make suggestions and took care of us at our pace. The place is good looking with a really nice bar as the centerpiece. We walked through the outdoor patio and bar area. Because of the time of year, it wasn’t set up, but looks like it’s a neat spot to hang out on warmer days. The tall ceilings, and hard surfaces, do bounce the noise around some. You definitely have to speak up when the place is full. All said, the food and service were great and the atmosphere is fun and vibrant. We will definitely be back!

Manager and staff were great. Server and service was excellent. Food was very good. Had Salmon was really good. Filet and gnocchi. The apps charcuterie board and shrimp cocktail were great. Worth it especially if you are headed to a show or seeing the live music at the club.
