By Patrik Pettersson is the most inventive restaurant in the Bradenton/Sarasota area. Patrik (the chef) changes his menu every 3 weeks and is always coming up with dishes and ingredients I have never imagined that work really well together. We have eaten all over the world - dining in Paris is something we do on a regular basis - yet, we love being able to eat some unbelievable food in our own backyard! Justin runs the show making sure the courses aren't coming out too fast or too slow. He comes up with the most wonderful wines and always makes dining a pleasure. The staff is outstanding and makes sure we are well taken care of. I can't believe that the foodies aren't lining up for this one. Do not let the location - a hotel near the SRQ airport - put you off. The food and wine could be served in a cave or a fancy location and it would not make the experience any less or more desirable. We look forward to our next visit!!!!

This hidden gem, inside The Modern hotel, is literally the best food we’ve had in Sarasota over the past year of dining out. Cocktails are great, staff is attentive and accommodating, and make very helpful recs when asked. Sit on patio. Don’t forget to order the Brussel sprouts. Lots of options for vegan/gf as well as a fantastic burger for meat lovers. Free parking. Walkable to Fogertyville. We love this place!

Enjoyed our dinner at this locals spot. Ample servings. The chicken Francese is great with the angel hair pasta. Caesar salad big enough to share. Server attentive and got us out on time for concert.

Traverna Toscana Finally, an upscale restaurant bringing a touch of class to downtown Bradenton! My wife and I decided to venture out last Friday night to try the newly opened Traverna Toscana, and it did not disappoint. The executive chef’s carefully curated menu was impressive, with the octopus standing out as our favorite dish of the evening. My wife, who rarely tries such cuisine, was pleasantly astonished by how delicious it was. The complementary lemon butter sauce? Simply unbelievable—so good! There are several other enticing items on the menu that have us eager to return. The main course was equally well-prepared and enjoyable. I opted for the 33-day-aged ribeye, which featured the perfect balance of a beautifully seared crust and a juicy, flavorful center. Cooked to perfection, it was a highlight of the night. To accompany our meal, we chose the 2021 Jayson Pahlmeyer Napa red. While the wine was delicious, it felt slightly overpriced—perhaps the Caymus would have been a better value. We ended the night with a lemon cheesecake, and all I can say is: WOW! If you’re looking for a wonderful dining experience in Bradenton, I highly recommend trying Traverna Toscana. This gem is sure to impress!
