Meigas, a Spanish establishment located in Ballarat, is a must-visit for foodies seeking a delectable dining experience. The establishment boasts a cozy and lively atmosphere, complete with Latin music that transports diners to a tapas bar in Barcelona. The interior design is quirky and eclectic, with vintage artifacts adorning the walls. Prices are reasonable, making it accessible to a wide range of customers. Reservations are essential, as the place is always packed. The menu features a variety of Spanish dishes, including marinated olives, peppers with goat cheese, potatas bravas with chorizo, Spanish omelette, spinach and cheese croquettes, fried sardines, meatballs in almond sauce, and pulpo galicia. The paella is a must-try, but be sure to call ahead to avoid the 45-minute wait. The sangria is refreshing, and the Spanish hot chocolate is creamy and rich.

Went to celebrate my partners birthday, had made a note on the booking but nothing special was done or mentioned on arrival or after paying. However the meal was lovely, we had a 4/5 tapas and paella for 2 which was more than enough for 2, even left with a takeaway box of paella. Gambas pil pil and the pepper with goats cheese along with the paella was the best dishes we tried. Wasn’t the biggest fan of the oysters but overall the meal was great and would 100% visit again.

What a fabulous Christmas Eve lunch, so good we have booked in for 2025 with new friends we met on the day. Started with a truffle hunt and a visit to the Alpacas which was fascinating and fun, to the dining experience which was 12/10. The food was delicious and presentation was amazing matched perfectly with local wines. The service was first class, we were made to feel welcome from arrival and the staff interaction and knowledge was spot on. Highly recommend dining at Black Cat Truffles
