The Ferry Inn is a serendipitous country public house with welcoming staff, character rooms, candlelight, open fires, real ales, popular foods and fantastic sunsets. A 17th Century former smugglers haunt-- this is a pretty little pub in a lovely marshland setting with tables and benches on the front terrace and in the back alongside the riverbank. Inside it's very easygoing and chatty. The main bar has hop-draped painted beams, a green dado, and stools against the bar where they serve a beer called Oxney Ale specially brewed for the pub by Westerham Brewery. To the right is a cosy eating area with wheelback chairs-- ideal for a banquette with friends around a few long tables.

We make British food with a classic or modern slant. We source our ingredients from the local fields, woodlands and waters. Everything is cooked on the premises, including the sourdough bread and the icecreams.The Good Food Guide (2023) says: "A fittingly quaint old building, complete with original features, given a suave modern twist via grey panelling and contemporary furniture.     Beautiful view, attractive dining area with imaginative lighting and excellent food are what characterise Rocksalt but the service was a little sluggish. Nevertheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

    The decoration and atmosphere were excellent. All staff were smart clean and attentive at all times. They left the right amount of time between courses to enquire if there was anything else we required. The food was beautifully cooked and hot. Delicious choices and just the right size portions... Excellent lunchtime meal -Thank you all.

    Fantastic place with great food, very attentive staff and excellent customer service. I particularly want to mention how well the entire staff dealt with my wife’s nut allergy. Also very refreshing to hear nothing but professional chat from the staff. We will be back again soon. Thank you for a lovely experience.

    Great food, great atmosphere, great and attentive servers. However, in the spirit of attentiveness, the jacketed servers seemed like she was ticking a box. We had hardly started eating and she was already asking us how our food was? So maybe a little bit more time betwee bringing food to the table and asking how the meal is.
