Best Historic Restaurants in Downtown

we enjoyed everything about our delicious breakfast ( but what stood out and stole our hearts was the warm, friendly and knowledgeable server…what an 😇.

I have been coming to Jake’s since 1984 when I lived in town and when I visit… I don’t know how, but somehow, it’s still the same wonderful vintage yesterday year elegant restaurant. It has always been in the food remains superb. The service is impeccable. The Landry’s corporation has done a great job in allowing Jake’s to retain its unique and distinct personality.

I had such a wonderful experience at Jake’s! It had been thirty years since I dined at Jake’s! Truly an unforgettable dining experience full of joy and smiles! Angela was such a gracious, lovely server, very attentive and kind! I grew up in Portland and feel blessed to be an Oregonian and able to dine at this fine establishment, JAKE’s✨

We were lucky that the staff was able to accommodate us being late because of traffic. (15 minutes) We travel down from Seattle to see a show at 7:30 and sis their theater menu as stated we seat down at 6:17 and walked out at 7:17 with feeling of full but not uncomfortable full. Made our show on time.

Al-Amir Lebanese food was outstanding, great value, and have a very friendly team of servers. We ordered "family style" and the owners (Mo and Lydia) took wonderful care of us. We really enjoyed the Baba Ghanoush, Lamb Shank off the bone, marinated Chicken, and the Hummus was smooth and tasty. Two couples spent the weekend in Portland visiting from Seattle and Al-Amir created a memorable dining experience for us. Highly recommended and probably the best value in downtown Portland.
