Best Historic Restaurants in Downtown Louisville

We sat at the bar to start, as we were early for our reservation. The bar staff was absolutely amazing, and the cocktails were very top notch! When we were seated the same level of service carried through and the food was certainly on point. They had live piano players the entire time, and it set the mood. This was an amazing experience and I highly recommend it!

We opted to try Proof On Main to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary during our annual visit to Louisville. Routinely, we had our anniversary dinner at Swizzle. However, when we were unsuccessfully at securing a reservation at Swizzle, our search for an alternate led us to Proof on Main-we are glad we did! Not only were we able to get a last minute reservation on X-mas eve, but it wasn't packed, adding to the intimate ambience we were hoping to experience. Our waiter, was not only knowledgeable, but he was verry attentive and detailed with his recommendations; which were spot-on. I cannot remember the last time I savored every bit of my meal.

Food was great! Felt like the server was a bit annoyed with our table when we asked for the items that were missing from our orders. We understand it was busy and a mistakes happen it was busy!

Fantastic and creative food that was well done. Often times having QR ordering system means colder / disconnected service but this place does it right. The staff made their rounds and connected well with the customers. Delicious drinks as well. Thanks for a great experience

Beautiful building, friendly staff and good food. When I was there, the music was too loud to have a conversation.
