I had an ok experience for my first visit at Gatehouse. There weren’t enough servers for outdoor seating, so we were taken upstairs. Then another server arrived and we went back downstairs. I ordered the beet and arugula salad with salmon and it was ok. The salad and dressing were pretty bland. I asked for balsamic dressing and that made a big difference. Overall, my visit was just ok and I’ll explore other options the next time I’m at the Navy Yard.

Bistro Romano has been one of our go to places for more than 30 years. I wish they still had table side Caesar salad - that was a show! - but the salad from the kitchen is still excellent.

Food was delightful and service was good. Only one complaint….we were having soft drinks (diet soda) with our meal but were unaware that the glasses of soda were not refillable. When we were given the bill of fare we learned that we were charged for each refill adding 5 extra charges for our party’s refills. We paid it and did not complain but felt we could have been made aware that our beverages were not refillable.
