They have the portable unit that the server brings to the table, which may not be that new for this restaurant. But, it was the suggested tip page which I don't remember seeing before. While it's common to conclude the billing settlement with the tip page, I've always seen the suggested tip presented as something along the lines of 15% - 18% - 22%. So, I assumed something similar with the Starfish system, and just checked the middle box. Well, I then looked, after paying, to the paper copy and realized I'd tipped $20, not 20%. Turns out that their tip suggestions were $15 - $20 - $25. Dollars, not percentages. So, for my $49 meal, their middle suggestion was a 40% tip. My guess is that they are basing their tips on standard dinner menu pricing, not happy hour.
