- BBenoitMontreal / Quebec •1 review4.0Dined 6 days agoNOT GREAT – LACK of Planning and Preparation On April 19, 2025, we were 4 guests at Loyds. Seafood lovers, prepare for total disappointment. The snow crab legs were bad — very salty to the point of being inedible. This was confirmed by the restaurant supervisor. People in the restaurant were clearly unhappy; we could hear loud and clear their disappointment. What is totally unacceptable, and shows a complete lack of professionalism, is that they left it there and simply stated, "We have no control over that — it is what it is." In a restaurant, you should taste the food before daring to serve it to your guests so the experience is memorable. Instead, you're spreading sadness and disappointment, and people will remember how bad it was. The lobster, on the other hand, was completely bland. No taste at all, watered down to the point of being flavorless. And yes, again, another mistake in presentation — please don’t leave the "towel" on the lobster. This was also mentioned to the restaurant supervisor, who seemed surprised. I was told the towel is used to remove excess water and because "people don’t want to see the upper part of the lobster — the green and red." This is a simple setup issue — you can do better than that. Improvisation in a luxury buffet should never happen. Now, on a more positive note, the oysters were great. The sashimi, sushi, and nigiri section — though very limited — was amazing. Oh, and again... "Sorry sir, can I have chopsticks?" — "No, we don’t put them out because they are quality ones and people will steal them." They were kind enough to get some for me... otherwise, eat it with a fork. Wow. Desserts were a disaster and not great. Loyds, years ago, was 100% better. Sadness, again. For the quality and price paid, this is not worth it. Maybe if the quality had been there, it would have been a completely different story. I must admit it was a great place to be, service was excellent. I would not recommend LOYDS for seafood lover.More infoLloydPrice: Expensive• French• Downtown•4.3
