Best Hot Spot Restaurants in Virginia

I LOVE Southern Kitchen and the new location has excellent parking. The food and service has always been very good and now it's very convenient. Always select catfish bites and a side salad is perfect. I never have room for dessert!

Still, a high point of Richmond dining. We hadn't been in a while and were delighted to discover that "under new management," Can Can is better than ever. Excellent French-inspired menu, quality prep and a welcoming, professional staff. We were pleased to see Lauren captaining the reception desk, and our server, Chelsea, was attentive and cheerful. It's not easy finding a good hollandaise in Richmond, let alone an edible baguette, but Can Can delivers on both counts. Can't wait to return.

The food was amazing! The service was excellent…our server took great care of us and offered suggestions that were delicious. I love the atmosphere at Stella’s. My only complaint was we were seated right in front of the door. There was a lot of traffic in and out. It was freezing that night so every time the door opened we got a gust of cold air. That won’t keep us away. We will be back!!

Absolutely wonderful meal. ❤️ Friend from out of town, wanted something eclectic foodie meets comfort. Serena our waitress was AMAZING. Great menu recommendations, subtle attentive service, highly recommend.

As always, the food, ambiance, and service were excellent. My husband and I have been talking about L'Opposum to my husband's brother, my brother, and their wives since our first meal there in 2018. We wanted to take my brother and his wife to L'opposom because he is a chef, and she is the best cocktail maker. They both have an amazing wine collection. They are foodies, and we knew they would appreciate this restaurant and its offerings. My brother and I grew up in France. Luckily for both of us, cooking was only done with high-quality fresh food in our family. Every Sunday, we all cooked together and sat at the table enjoying conversations and laughs, and adults dutifully paired wines with the dishes of the day (of course, while educating us children about the need to do so) I am sharing this because L'Opposom offers a colorful environment with a skilled staff, a witty and excellent menu, a tremendous thought-through music list, and a great cocktail and wine list. In some ways, each time I have been there, I am taken back to my Sunday meals, where food and drinks were always delicious, laughter was plentiful, and you could hear each other talk (I do not know how it's done, but you can actually have a conversation without having to raise your voice or ask someone to repeat).
