- PPamVIPNew York City •8 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoLove the change to a price fixe or chefs tasting menu. We went for Christmas Eve and loved the experience. We had a great server, love the ambiance and the food was delicious and innovative. The price fixe is three courses, but they give you more to try. It was more than a dinner out, it was an experience. I highly recommend.More infoThe EssexPrice: Expensive• American• Old Saybrook•4.8
- JJosephVIPGreater Boston •23 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoI have been coming to this location long before Newport Restaurant Group acquired it and have had a love and regretfully, hate relationship with this restaurant. Sometimes the food is good, sometimes not. Sometimes the service is fantastic and sometimes not. Tonight, for the first time in my experience, they have met at an intersection of wonderful! Our waitress, Svetlana was exceptional. Being Christmas Eve, I had prepared to tamper my expectations because as with most holiday dining, it's a lot to manage the parties varying in size and expectation along with the intensity placed on the kitchen and it's staff. She was personable, friendly and attentive the entire service. In addition, the food was exceptional! We had started with the creamy chowder and 6 oysters and 4 shrimp cocktail, then the tuna tartare and the crab dip. There was a slightly longer wait for the lobsters ( because we waited to place the entree orders until we were half way done with our second course and not because of our waitress). Still, the restaurant manager came over to apologize for the slightly longer wait, which was NOT their fault. Our 2 lb and 1.25 lb baked stuffed lobsters came out to perfection! We also managed to indulge in the bananas fosters cheesecake. A delightful surprise of an evening and now, we want more! The staff , front and back of house are to be commended as well as the management team, for what felt like a well prepared team ready to serve the masses!More infoBoat House Waterfront DiningPrice: Moderate• Seafood• Tiverton•4.8

- BbethVIPGreater Boston •50 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 16, 2024Our server and other waitstaff were fantastic! We had a leisurely dinner and never felt rushed. Dinner was lovely but dessert was the winner tonight. Decorated beautifully for Christmas…greens, wreaths, so many candles glowing and the twinkly lights everywhere made it feel like a Christmas wonderland (side note) because the lighting is dimmed so can enjoy the decor was a big hard to read the menu at the table Maybe an extra little table lamp would help 10 out of 10 experience The Coast Guard is is consistently at the top of the list. You can always count on a great meal and a great experience with some of the best wait staff in the state.More infoThe Coast Guard HousePrice: Moderate• Seafood• Narragansett•4.7
- RRandiVIPGreater Boston •12 reviews5.0Dined on Dec 8, 2024We have wanted to try Tin Peddler for a while, and had the perfect opportunity for a family brunch. We had an 11:00 a.m. reservation, and when we arrived the hostess informed us that they were running a little behind, so we had a 10 minute wait to be seated which was no big deal. The brunch menu is lovely. The drink menu offered wonderful brunch cocktail selections (including mocktails), and the food menu had a really nice selection of both breakfast and more savory lunch options. Everyone said their food was exceptional. Our party ordered a variety of items, including traditional breakfasts, butternut bisque, avocado toast and grilled cheese, all delicious. One funny thing that happened was the bus person took our plates before asking if we were finished, and before we realized what was happening, my son was left holding the last bites of his breakfast sandwich while his plate was cleared away. We all laughed, but this is just a little fine tuning that their staff should be trained on. The restaurant decor is really fun and inviting. The noise level did get loud at times but that seems to be common in restaurants these days because of the decor and furnishings they use, and the open concept layout. Definitely not a deal breaker. All in all we had a wonderful experience and look forward to returning to try their dinner menu!More infoThe Tin PeddlerPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• North Stonington•4.9
