- RRobertWashington, D.C. Area •12 reviews4.0Dined 1 day agoI arrived at 2 pm and was seated immediately since I had a reservation. The waitperson came right away and handed me a menu and left to give me time to look it over. I ordered the peanut and water chestnut soup, the turkey pot pie, and the colonial bread pudding for dessert. What can you say about peanut soup? Okay I had it, it tasted good, and I never need to have this colonial specialty again. No knock on the restaurant, it has other appetizers to choose from. The turkey pot pie had chunks of roast turkey and vegetables swimming in gravy around a circular piece of baked bread. I thought it was pretty good and the serving was big enough for two to share. The colonial bread pudding was quite good raisins and with vanilla ice cream. I had an enjoyable time celebrating an early Thanksgiving. They are completely booked for the holiday.More infoMount Vernon Inn RestaurantPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Alexandria•4.6
- RRichOrlando / Central Florida East •17 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoYou start with the ambience of entering a renovated 1852 train station in old town Warrenton. In the summer they have a large patio for outdoor dinning. The food was outstanding today, as usual. We started with their famous She-Crab Soup and the Yellowfin Ahi Tuna Wontons that will never disappoint anyone. It was lunch, so we all had the Angus Burger seasoned and cooked to a perfect medium with white cheddar and applewood bacon. I added their bacon jam. Then for desert we had the Creme Brulee and Apple Crisp that were a perfect ending. Our waitress Brenda V. was outstanding with a great attitude. We could not have asked for a better brithday lunch for my wife.More infoClaire's at the DepotPrice: Expensive• Contemporary American• Warrenton•4.8
