- AAleksandraWashington, D.C. Area •2 reviews5.0Dined 1 day agoThis is a great restaurant with an authentic taste of Germany with a cozy and inviting atmosphere. From the moment we stepped inside we were greeted with warm hospitality and a charming European-style ambiance that makes us feel welcome. The menu offers a good selection of traditional German dishes, from hearty bratwurst and schnitzel to delicious potato pancakes and freshly baked pretzels. The flavors are rich and authentic, and the ingredients taste fresh and high-quality. We tried the sauerkraut balle and the stroganoff were fantastic! Also, the selection of German beers and specialty drinks added to the experience, making it a great spot for dining. The service was friendly and attentive and ensured a great dining experience. Overall, Café Berlin brings the heart of Germany to DC. Whether you’re a fan of German cuisine or simply looking for a cozy spot with great food and atmosphere, this café is a must-visit.More infoCafe BerlinPrice: Moderate• German• Capitol Hill•4.7

- MMichaelBaltimore / Maryland •2 reviews4.0Dined 3 days agoWe got a reservation for Valentines evening and I’ll admit that all restaurants were booked. We were seated in seats with no backs near the bar. Probably half of the seating in the restaurant was this style. We would have preferred backs on the seats but it was what it was and we weren’t expecting 4star comfort at an ale house. Food was good and as we expected. Service however left a lot to be desired. Perhaps they were understaffed or maybe our server really didn’t want to be there that evening. We found ourselves often waiting for our waiter who, btw, spilled my beer as he sat it down on the table and didn’t come back to clean up the spill. I’d probably give the restaurant another shot as the food and drink were good. I just hope we’re there when finding a good table and service are such a premium.More infoThe Alehouse ColumbiaPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Columbia•4.6

He knew the menu, made strong recommendations, and was attentive throughout the meal. You can’t go to Victoria without getting the duck fat fries. I was a little hesitant to sit out on the patio, but the area was warm and a bit less noisy than the rest of the restaurant. Since, we have moved, we don’t get to Victoria as much as we did in the past. However, when we make the trip, we can be assured of consistently good food and excellent service.More infoVictoria Gastro PubPrice: Moderate• International• Columbia•4.5
- WWilliamWashington, D.C. Area •6 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoThe crab beignets were a surprise in terms of flavor and quality while the soup of the day--apple and butternut squash with a little dribble of spicy oil was very pleasing. We had the salmon with roasted brussels sprouts/mushroom/onions and the lamb bolognese--both were excellent. Service was great with good explanations of menu items, answers to our questions, and timeliness of attending to our table. It's a very casual place and the noise level was moderate though we were early diners though the place filled at dinner as we were leaving. Have already recommended to others and look forward to a return visit especially to try the chicken and waffles or the shrimp and grits.More infoBarrel & CrowPrice: Moderate• American• Bethesda•4.4
