So happy to have Monk's Kettle on our side of the bay! Service was absolutely excellent, vibes were good and we will def be back. This location feels a lot more family friendly than the SF spot, which might be your vibe, or maybe not. Lots of kids around, but when we were there they were all pretty chill. I think all of Rockridge is incredibly stoked to have MK here, because it can be hard to get in if you are aiming for prime time or the weekend. I recommend getting a reservation, at least until the hype wears off. It might not though. This is probably one of the coolest places in the neighborhood. We ordered the burger (which was cooked perfectly) and the chicken sando which was also super tasty. Both of us got the kale salad as a side and it had a nice variety of veggies, great flavor and wasn't over-dressed. Sometimes side salads are kind of depressing, but not this one :). Welcome to the neighborhood!

We reserved on open table and were promptly seated on arrival. The restaurant is attractive and tables well spaced. Lots of screens immediately identify it's sports bar character, without excess noise. We have modest appetites and split an appetizer and entree, and could not quite finish either. Tasty margaritas complimented the very well prepared and seasoned the Brussel Sprout appetizer. The huge full slab of meaty ribs were perfectly smoked and cooked with a "just right" bit of crispy edges. The side of sweet potato casserole was of generous size and with a hint of seasonings. The cornbread side was our only disappointment. Good appearance and decent texture, but absolutely no flavor. Purr order was taken promptly, and delivery of food and drinks was very quick, perhaps a bit too quick on there entree, which arrived immediately after the entree hurt the table. It got there before the Margarita. During the meal we were asked by all the people dropping off food or drink if everything was good, but after we finished it was quite awhile before our server wandered over to ask about dessert. Prices are a bit high, but are justified by the ambiance, quality and portion sizes. We will return.
