- SStephaniePhiladelphia County •4 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThe renovations to the bar were worth the wait- The space is very warm and inviting! They had a wonderful piano player that complimented the ambiance as well. We were pleased with the unique choices on the menu, and very satisfied with our meals. Our waitress was extremely pleasant and attentive, and when my husband mentioned it was my birthday, she offered us a free dessert! As if that wasn’t surprise enough, I got a card signed by everyone on the staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our night and definitely plan on returning soon!More infoThe Jockey TavernPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Malvern•4.4

It was always hot, didn't feel like one course was waiting for the other. Perfect, something like you would expect from higher end places. Only one thing i would suggest, wait staff better educated on pairing drinks to your apps, or your meals. You are at the point where you don't want the new waiter but rather a seasoned waiter that knows how to communicate and get the entire table's attention. Some call it up selling, but i call it ambiance. It's part of the experience.More infoChopHouse GrillePrice: Moderate• Steakhouse• Exton•4.7

We have gone for the Seven Fishes buffet on Christmas Eve for three years straight and this year was even better. They just keep improving year by year and they were already great to begin with. The staff is top notch, the restaurant itself is very nice. It’s situated in a “restaurant row” and the parking is easy to navigate. As far as the food, it’s incredible!! It’s ok if you don’t like fish, that’s OK. They have plenty of options. It’s all superb. They cherry on top is their staff. Everyone is super nice and polite. The gentlemen working the carving station recognized that one of our party had mobility issues and made sure to bring her the salmon as soon as it was brought out. He wasn’t even a server and he brought it to the table!! It was indicative of the level of service offered. I can say enough great things about this place. We have eaten there multiple times over the years and aver meal has been terrific!! Looking forward to the next time. Thank you for reading this and try the Brickside, you won’t be sorry!More infoBrickside GrillePrice: Moderate• Seafood• Exton•4.7

It is so much more than that, though. As the founder was a major player in early 20th century opera recordings, The Victor Cafe has an opera theme permeating its soul. The walls are adorned with photos of the opera greats, opera music plays softly in the background, and, most importantly, the waitstaff are all classically-trained opera performers. Every half hour or so, they gather everyone’s attention to perform a selection from a popular opera, complete with a synopsis of the story they’re about to tell through their performance. Every performer was wonderful and this made for a unique, joyful and memorable experience for my family. I grew up on Italian cuisine, and this was among the best I’ve had in a long time. We shared the Calamari Fritti, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that we could have substituted Smelts for the calamari. This was a staple of our Christmas Eve dinners when I was young. My Veal Saltimbocca was perfect, as was my Daughter’s Prince Igor (penne with a vodka blush, salmon, tomato, and Asparagus). We enjoyed our cannolis while watching our last performance of the evening. Breathtaking! Special shout out to our server, Brenna, who took our dessert order mere seconds after completing her duet! Remarkable! I can’t say enough about The Victor Cafe; if you’re looking for a classic South Philly Italian Restaurant, paired with one of the most wonderful and unique experiences you’ll find today, then this is the place for you.More infoThe Victor Cafe - PhiladelphiaPrice: Moderate• Italian• South Philly•4.9
