Best Open Kitchen Restaurants in Pacific Beach

The food was great, but we found the prices a bit high considering certain shortcomings in the service (for example, they sat us 15 minutes late, and the drinks arrived after two courses), and also the comfort of the place, being a bit narrow with high traffic around the tables (specially ours which was in the main path).

We sat outside in the Courtyard. There were plenty of heaters so it was very comfortable. Started with a Caesar salad followed by the braised short rib cannelloni And shrimp papparedelle. Very tasty.

Such a fun and exciting restaurant. The cooking in the open kitchen is fun to observe. The food is nicely presented and delicious. The cocktail are so creative and taste great. Service is very good. I can't wait to go back!

Great Food and great service. I was surprised by the beef carpaccio because last time I got it. It was wonderful and this time it was very spicy. 

The Whaling Bar is hands down our favorite local spot, whether it’s for a cozy date night or an evening out with friends. The atmosphere is fantastic, the cocktails are exceptional, and the food never disappoints. We love everything on the menu, but our personal favorites are the celery salad, Caesar salad, the baos, and the chicken—each dish is perfectly executed. We’re also lucky enough to have George as our server every time we dine here. He’s simply the best, making every visit even more memorable with his friendly demeanor and excellent service. And don’t forget to save room for dessert! The burger dessert is an absolute must-try. We can’t wait to come back again soon!
