Located just off Sonoma Plaza, Cafe La Haye offers an appealingly unfussy sophistication. The split-level dining room holds just a dozen or so tables, but its open kitchen, raftered ceiling and walls adorned with modern art create a vibrant energy that’s contagious.Convivial owner Saul Gropman and chef Jeffrey Lloyd make a formidable team. Lloyd, former executive chef of restaurant Michael Mina, offers a seasonal menu that’s discreet in its complexity, featuring the sort of dishes that seem to get better with each bite. Gropman’s wine list comprises a modest 100 bottles, but it’s a smart, well-focused selection - Wine Spectator

We had a lovely dinner. The food was delicious. The service was attentive but overly so. The ambiance was warm and not too noisy. All in all a really nice evening.

I loved everything about the place except for one disappointing detail. Despite mentioning it was my husband’s birthday ahead, we were not offered a nice table to mark the occasion. To make matters worse, as we were joyfully chatting over dinner, we were told we would need to vacate the table by a certain time. From such an upscale establishment, I expected much better attention to detail and hospitality.

Wonderful experience...love this restaurant. The service, the food and the kind host who understood that my friend was having problems getting to the restaurant bc of traffic. My friend came and we visited for three hours. We only get to see each other once a year and we didn't realize how long we stayed. Daniel who took care of us told us to enjoy our lunch and said no worries about staying so long. I have been here many times and will continue. thank you

The portions were huge and the price was surprisingly fair given the location. We were staying at Carneros resort and called to ask for an earlier time since 8pm was the only available time when we booked online. They were able to accommodate immediately after which we greatly appreciated.
