- MmarianneVIPPortland / Oregon •30 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoMy mother lives this place . Serves comfort food in a cozy atmosphere. She lived her meatloaf. We enjoyed the spinach artichoke dip w/rustic bread and the bread pudding and torte were delicious. The only negative was the place was full, Thus our waitress did her best and we liked her, but did not check back after our food was served. My husband‘s pork chop was dry to the point of inedible and my fresh salmon was completely overcooked. ( She was kind enough to take the pork off our bill.) The sides that came with these dishes were delicious. It was really disappointing as it was my mother‘s 87th birthday. I’m just glad she enjoyed her meal. I ordered a glass of all back, which had a nice pour and my Spanish coffee was delicious. Will be back, however we specify how we want our food cooked!!More infoHudson's Bar & Grill The Heathman LodgePrice: Expensive• American• Vancouver•4.6
- MMatthewPortland / Oregon •14 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoThis Italian restaurant translating to "Tortoise" served up tasty and hot food on a changing menu along with excellent Italian wines. We sat in one of the two fish bowl booths at the entrance to the restaurant, and it made the experience cozy for our party of four. The server and staff were courteous, knowledgable, and attentive. The Pork Osso Bucco, which featured a meaty and succulent shank nestled in a generous bed of saffron risotto, was perfect for a cold winter's evening meal. The Olive Oil Poached Sablefish delivered on the ocean fish's promised richness. The Bolognese, featuring Tartuca's homemade Radiatori pasta, was delectable. We also enjoyed the house Sangiovese, which was reasonably priced for a restaurant wine. This was our first visit to Tartuca, but certainly not the last.More infoTartucaPrice: Expensive• Italian• Northeast Portland•4.7

Unfortunately, they’ve added on a health surcharge and included gratuity plus increased pricing. Their system double charges customers for this by basically “double-taxing” the total after gratuity/health fees and not on the actual core base amount. It’s frustrating to see restaurants take this trend under the guise of “we can’t afford to pay for healthcare for our employees” but equally then not correctly implement this taxing system. It makes the conversation with servers awkward because the service staff is fabulous!More infoOlympia Provisions SoutheastPrice: Expensive• Contemporary European• Southeast Portland•4.6
