Let me say we normally love Flemings but every time we’ve been lately, it’s slightly less of an ‘experience’ and this time was very disappointing. The bar experience was great but the restaurant was freezing. We were happily accommodated at another table but it was still very cold. Our server, while sweet, was not at all ready to be waiting tables. We had to ask for everything. We requested water refills three times, we requested salt and pepper, my husband had to request clarified butter for his lobster. First he had to wait until we found her, then he had to wait until she got back with it! You can imagine just how cold his lobster got with all that waiting. Also, in the past, the server normally offers to remove the lobster from the shell….that did not happen. Also, historically, the manager on duty stops by the tables to greet and check on service. Again, that did not happen. I was also extremely disappointed in the casual outfits worn by the hostesses. They were more casually dressed than most of the customers. The atmosphere and the service was less special than our last trip to Outback where the staff was genuinely interested in our experience…..for a lot less money. There are so few really special places to dine out left in the Akron area, it is such a shame to see Flemings become like any other restaurant….Friday even a little less than others.

We had a terrible Thanksgiving dinner experience at Fleming’s. Despite arriving on time for our 7:30 reservation, we were told we’d face a long wait unless we sat in the bar area. We agreed to a high-top table, but service was slow throughout the night. It took over 20 minutes to correct a simple drink order, and our food took far too long to arrive. The lobster bisque was bland and rubbery, the salad was wilted, and overall, the food quality was disappointing. When we raised concerns, the server and manager were dismissive, with the manager stating that long wait times are “normal” due to walk-ins. Frustrated, we left without receiving our entrées. While the manager comped the meal, the experience was deeply disappointing and far below expectations for a restaurant of this caliber.

Server fine. Management way overcommitted resources so food was delayed horribly. One hour to get salad. Another hour to get entrees. Yes, Thanksgiving but don’t overreach like this. Traded short term revenues for reputation.
