Created as a nod to the owner’s grandmother, guests will experience an array of dishes from house-made pastas, seasonal antipasti and wood-fired fish and steak. At Formento’s, Chef David Schwartz combines new world culinary creativity with generations past. Our world-class wine program offers guests more than 300 varietals from around world.

went for a family dinner of 7 people and sat at a round booth where we could all hear and see each other! food was delicious and service was great!

First of all, Formento's is a warm and "cozy cool" place to walk into. The next step is the sense that the staff is experienced and truly interested in providing top notch service. That's a darn good start, wouldn't you agree?? In the early rounds, our table most enjoyed the East Coast oysters and the Gem Salad - the sizable salad featuring "perfect" greens, red onion, pecorino cheese and a distinctive vinaigrette. The entree round featured a light & tasty Branzino plus the mushroom risotto - which featured a deep, rich flavor profile that, in my humble opinion, did not benefit from the black truffle. Somewhat disappointing was the decidedly non-standard Cacio e Pepe. We were unable to identify the unexpected flavors but we easily agreed we prefer the old standard. The wine list is terrific, as is the sommelier. In this post-Covid restaurant world, I'm still struggling with the high price levels in quality big-city restaurants. Including a medium beverage tab, the cost of our visit was $150/person. For us, that means we'll be back because we really enjoyed our visit - but it won't be anytime real soon. :-(

Dinner was a fantastic experience. The food was delicious from the appetizer, the main course pasta to the after dinner martini. Our server was personable, helpful and delightful. All around enjoyable evening.

I went here for my birthday with my friends visiting from out of town. I had never been here before but it was amazing. I am 100% coming back. Our server was so personable, the manager came over and talked with us, everything was amazing. Cacio e Pepe pasta… superb. I dream about it. The staff also thought my red-headed friend Michael was a cast member on Sex and The City reboot… he’s just another ginger guy but that was hilarious. I highly recommend. 10/10.

Been here several times and it never disappoints. Usually I go for the Carbonara but decided on the Porchetta special instead. I am so glad that I did. Done to perfection, and exquisite taste.

Love this place! Food is delicious, we got the Brussels, Paccheri pasta, and a Caesar salad. I’m already craving it again. Make sure to ask for no anchovies in the Caesar, but other than that it was delicious! Will be back!

Amazing food and fantastic customer service. When we checked in for our reservation they asked if we were attending a show that was taking place at the United Center. We were. They said they’d be sure to have us out on time and they did! We were a party of 8 and everyone raved about their food and experience. Will be back. Highly recommend.
