   Nothing has changed since the pandemic, the restaurant hasn’t reached the level it was before the pandemic. In 2019 it was great. Things changed in late 2020 (understandable). But since then it’s the same tired menu. Plus the waitstaff could use a refresher course on how to wait on customers.

   The HoHokus Inn is a gem. A restaurant where One can relax, celebrate, enjoy wonderful food, in an atmosphere that is exceptional. I will return and I want to thank the entire team for a wonderful afternoon.

   First, the Hostess, Nora is fabulous. I had placed a special request upon making the reservation and Nora made it happen and was the topping on a wonderfully scrumptious dinner. However, our server was NOT knowledgable with regards to much of anything besides bringing us our drinks and food. On a packed Saturday night and the house is full, all staff should be on top of their game. Our waitress, 1) did not know the difference between red and white wines, and 2) had no idea which glass to pour the wine into for dinner. Embarrassing, but we did not let that interfere with the evening I had the black bass that was sauteed perfectly, crispy skin and melt in your mouth fish. To start we shared calamari, dusted perfectly for that wonderful crunch. I wanted to also try the Mojo De Ajojo Shrimp. It was good, but it needed something, could not put my finger on it, but was lacking on flavor. My wife had the tempura style fish taco’s which were fantastic, fresh and flavorful. Was a perfect romantic dinner for two!! You MUST try the Inn and Tavern. You will Not be disappointed as the entire menu is prepared with painstaking care and fresh ingredients that you can taste in every bite.    Sebastian took care of our special requests for our salads! He was also very friendly, professional, & attentive. My family & I truly enjoy our time here, whether it be in the Tavern, Wine Room, or Library! Nor always accommodates a request for my favorite tables:)

   We ate in the Library room. Because there’s a bar in this room, the noise level can be energetic. The service was excellent! I have to have gluten free, and there were several options available. I had the sea bass; it was delicious! They have a gluten free brownie too! A good time was had!

   My lifelong friend and I were celebrating our birthdays with our wives. We loved the little touch on the top of the day's special menu that had "Happy Birthday". We ate in the Tavern Room and everything was great. The food was delicious as always and the service was good. We also love the ambiance, it's always warm and inviting.

   It was our first time at HHK Inn, and we really enjoyed ourselves, the food, and the drinks. We were flexible about seating arrangements and ended up in a different room than we had planned, but again, we were fine with that as it was our first time. What we didn’t realize was how many young families would be dining nearby. Our table was centrally located between a table of 4 and a table of 10, and so most of our conversation was drowned out by kids yelling about chocolate milk and fish. Kind of a damper on our date night. Toward the end, we were eager to get our check. The food and drinks were delicious, and maybe next time we will make a later reservation for a more adult crowd.
